Simon Radley

Independent Financial Adviser

Simon began giving Independent Financial Advice in Wiltshire in 1994, utilising many of the interpersonal skills he learnt in previous roles in the industry. Whilst offering advice in all areas of financial planning, he specialises in providing investment advice, retirement planning and Inheritance tax mitigation.

Simon's strengths are in developing successful client relationships, which he has done over many years, and his ability to make technical issues less complicated for clients to understand. He provides honest, straightforward and friendly advice.

Simon has clients from all walks of life and all different ages, from retired to those just starting out in their working life.

"The bulk of my clients are either planning for retirement or are already retired and looking for income to enjoy the fruits of their hard work. I am pleased that I am now advising the children of some of my clients as this shows that I am doing things right."

Simon looks after a number of Group Pension Schemes and also advises employees as to how best to fund their retirement, and when they retire, how to cash in their pension, possibly transfer their pension, take the open market option and invest the pension lump sum.

He enjoys helping clients with tax efficient financial planning. For example, he has provided SIPP advice (Self Invested Personal Pensions) to clients who have purchased commercial property in a tax efficient manner and he provides inheritance tax planning which enables clients to reduce liabilities while achieving their own income requirements.

Simon says, "There have been so many changes in the financial services sector in the last few years with many more to come, it's even more important that we keep up with the latest technology and develop systems to enable us to continually improve our service to both existing and new clients. With all client records now on the same back office system, our experienced team of Client Account Managers in place and our new On Track, Wealth Building and Wealth Management service options, we have the infrastructure to provide an even more proactive service to our clients. We have also introduced client newsletters to keep people up to date with what is happening and we have created this website. It's exciting times.

I know that people say we are different from most IFAs because of the personal touch and 'non salesy' approach we take. My goal going forward is for us to ensure that what we deliver remains relevant and attractive to our clients and professional introducers."

Simon graduated with an Honours Degree in Business Studies in 1985 and a year later he joined a large firm of IFAs as a trainee adviser. After a number of different roles in the life and pensions industry including a major Life company in 1994 he joined a firm of IFAs in Salisbury and then in 2004 he set up his own practice, Radley Financial Consultancy.

n 2009 Simon merged his company with Beacon House Wealth Management Limited and has retained his office in the centre of Salisbury with its beautiful view of the Cathedral. Continuing with his professional development Simon has passed the Diploma in Financial Planning and has obtained his Statement of Professional Standing from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
